 Competitive

(June – November) 

Training and conditioning in preparation for competitions. Rowers will train for 2,000m races in the summer and 5,000m races in the fall. Travel to out of town regattas. Skill level determines boat assignments and potential entries into Regattas. Training/racing in the spring is a prerequisite to join this program.

  • Coached on water training up to 6 days a week, primarily mornings.
  • Includes fees in the following regattas: CORA Regattas
  • COST – $728.85 includes HST – $275 discount if athlete rowed HS Spring

As a condition of membership each member is required to deposit a postdated cheque, dated November 15th, 2018 made payable to the London Rowing Club, in the amount indicated below or by paying the buyout option with their membership fee. Upon completion of their Volunteer Support Program commitment the member’s cheque will be returned. $50 or 5 hrs volunteer.

Master’s Competitive

(April – October on water/ November – March Indoor)

Membership for adults, 27 years of age or older, who want to pursue the competitive side of rowing. Training and conditioning in preparation for competitions.   Must have completed at least one year of Masters Non-Competitive/Recreational to be considered for competition.

  • Option to Join ALL of the Competitive programs workouts.
  • Priority on Masters Equipment assignments during the Spring (April – June)
  • Coached practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, during the summer months (June to August) as determined by the Head Coach and summer coaching staff.
  • Includes fees for the CORA Regattas
  • Year-round access to and use of LRC facilities including tank-room equipment (ergs and weights) and change rooms.
  • COST – $ $593.25 includes HST

As a condition of membership each member is required to deposit a postdated cheque, dated November 15th, 2017 made payable to the London Rowing Club, in the amount indicated below or by paying the buyout option with their membership fee. Upon completion of their Volunteer Support Program commitment the member’s cheque will be returned. $100 or 10 hrs volunteer.

Master’s Non- Competitive

( April* – October on Water/ November – March Indoor)

Membership for adults, 27 years of age or older, for general training and conditioning and fitness.  To participate in this program members must have completed at least 1 season of recreational rowing and the Learn to Row program.

  • Coached practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays during the summer months (June to August). Scheduling and boats will be determined by the LRC and coaches.
  • * During the spring High School Season (April-May) this program will operate on the water subject to equipment availability. Rowing machines will be available.
  • COST – $548.05 includes HST

Bantam

(July – August)

Program for youth aged 12-14. Designed to encourage interest in future competitive rowing. Safety, fun, team work and some physical conditioning is stressed.

  • Two coached practices weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during on-water season (July-August).
  • Recreational Regatta held at Fanshawe Lake
  • COST – $305.10  includes HST

Tuesday and Thursdays – July 4 – August 3,  August 14, 16

High School Spring

(April – May)

Seasonal membership for high school students at participating schools. The on-water season is April and May.  Training in the Winter High School Group is a prerequisite to join this program.

COST – $339.00 includes HST

Rowers will receive a $275 discount if they go on to upgrade to a Recreational or Competitive Membership.

Upon completion of their Volunteer Support Program commitment the member’s cheque will be returned. $50 or 5 hrs volunteer.

Winter High School

(January 1 – April 1)

Seasonal membership for high school students who use the LRC’s indoor facilities and equipment for winter training. Supervised access to and use of LRC facilities including tank-room equipment (ergs and weights) and change rooms during winter training. January 1 to April 1.  This program is a prerequisite for High School Spring.

COST – $72.80 includes HST

Summer Recreational

(June – August)

Membership for rowers who are interested in rowing for the physical fitness and social aspects of the sport. Emphasis will be on developing and improving rowing skills.  Prior rowing experience is a prerequisite to join this program.  Learn to Row (LTR; see below) rowers can upgrade to this program after successful completion of the LTR, and receive a $150 discount.

  • Supervised and coached practices on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
  • Cost – $491.55 includes HST

*There will be no sessions the week August 5-12 due to coaches’ participation in the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

 

University Competitive

(May – August)

Summer Membership for rowers who have competed in a University Program and are home for the summer.  This program is a subset of the competitive program.

Coached on water training up to 6 days a week, primarily mornings.

Learn to Row or LTR

(June)

Learn the fundamentals of rowing. Participants will be introduced to rowing terminology, technique, equipment, safety procedures, and proper care of the boat. Must be at least 16 years old to participate.

  • 9 coached lessons: one orientation session followed by 8 on-water lessons.
  • Lessons are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  • Cost – $282.50 includes HST

Graduates of the Learn to Row program will receive a $150 discount if they go on to register for a Recreational Membership in 2017.

SESSION 1: May 28 – June 15, 2018
SESSION 2: June 18 – July 6, 2018

 

Miscellaneous Membership Categories

National Team Member
Memberships for rowers on the Canadian National rowing team.
Cost – $50.00 includes HST

Honorary Member
Membership for those who have been designated Honorary Members.
Cost – $45.00  includes HST

Indoor Gym – Year Round
Annual memberships for individuals who only want to use the LRC’s indoor facilities and equipment.  Year-round access to and use of LRC facilities including tank-room equipment (ergs and weights) and change rooms.  Year is April to April.
Cost – $169.50  includes HST

Indoor Gym – Winter
Half year membership designed for those who rowed for the summer and are interested in continuing to train indoors. Access and use of LRC facilities including tank room equipment (ergs and weights) and change rooms for 6 months.  November – April
Cost – $79.10  includes HST

Boat Storage
Annual boat storage at the LRC facilities located at 199 Wonderland Road, London, ON.  Cost – $169.50  includes HST

 

Important to note:
Prices listed above include applicable RowOntario (“ORA”) fees, Rowing Canada Aviron (“RCA”) fees plus 13% HST (#119488534).  The LRC is required to register all members and collect provincial and national association membership fees for all members.  These fees are forwarded on to ORA and RCA.

Competitive regatta fees (which are required to compete in any ORA or RCA sanctioned regattas) cover entries into the stated approved regattas.  Individuals must pay for entries into other regattas attended. All scratch fees are the responsibility of athletes causing the scratch.

Family Discount

The family discount may be applied to the following categories of membership: Learn to Row, High School Spring, Competitive, Master’s, Bantam, Recreational and University/College Summer Competitive (the “Eligible Membership(s)”).

Families who intend to register more than one family member in an Eligible Membership will receive a $50 discount for the second and each subsequent family member who registers in an Eligible Membership.  The $50 discount is only applied once per year and is not applied again if those same family members go on to register for, or upgrade to, another Eligible Membership.  For example, if a family has three individuals registered in Learn to Row and then all three upgrade their memberships to Recreational, the family will only receive the family discount on the second and third Learn to Row memberships and not on any of the Recreational memberships, for a total discount of $100.
